Banksy, who inspired us to mesh street art with cotton for our graphi-tee series, now has clips of his daring feats on his site.
Speaking of Banksy, I noticed before coming to Montreal for business, that one of his work on Brick Lane was removed.

We were thinking of doing something like that on a T-shirt but haven’t given much thought what to put. Call my agent? +44 Swiftlabel?
Essential London gear for heavy boozers and late night (or is it early morning?) revellers (via Divine Miss N).
A quick tour around the world:
UK: Friend e-mailed me that Metro, one of the 3 free London dailies, recently reviewed a bunch of T-shirt shops in the UK including Spunky Store and East London’s No-One… House of Holland showcased its in-your-face slogan tees à la Katherine Hamnett during London Fashion Week. The T-shirts, which seem to be from American Apparel, are sold out… Being a good corporate citizen ASDA, owned by Wal-Mart (or Wal-Marde as Québecois call it), pulled out a controversial T-shirt (see photo) from its stores… after selling 15,000 of them!
Elsewhere: LaFraise recently went Dutch… The cool folks at Graniph opened earlier this month a booth at Reed Space. Party shots are available on ASNY. Hope they printed larger sizes… And last but certainly not least, Japanese mega-chain Uniqlo is launching next week UT, its own T-shirt label (via Jean Snow and Gridskipper). At 1500 yen (7 quid, $15), these slick looking T-shirts will go really fast.

On the eve of its 10-year anniversary, the popular lesbian hangout Le Pulp is closing. The building it’s in was recently sold to property developers who are unfortunately converting it into luxury flats.
The small consolation news? The wild, delirious nights do not end tonight as it was previously thought. According to the schedule, Le Pulp will sneak in another two months of cutting edge electro music. That’s just enough time for me to go back to Paris and party with the girls on a Wednesday or Thursday, when guys can go in and, I hope, Ivan Smagghe and DJ Chloé are working their beat thumpin’ magic.

In another odd case of closure, Old Street’s 3-floor boozer 333 had to shut its doors last month after it was slapped with an ASBO (Anti-Social Behaviour Order). Fortunately, it has re-opened since.
P.S. We did think of making an ASBO T-shirt but the hip folks at A-non were miles ahead of us.
A must-see for design junkies, Magma is a cool indie shop in London that sells books, magazines and also T-shirts. With a shop near streetwear central Seven Dials and a bigger one near the famed school of art and design Central Saint-Martins, it was the only place I found that carried T-journal, the trade magazine for the tee industry.
